| think the
most important aspect of a cyclo-cross bike is the wheels. I have
quite a few sets of wheels each with differing tyres and tubs to use
in different conditions. The advantage of tubs is that you can run
them at a lower pressure to give you more grip and when you puncture
you can still ride them without them falling off the rim (as I found
out at the Europeans last year!!!)
I have 3 cyclo-cross bikes all of which are set up identically
so when I swap bikes during a race there are no differences. My
bikes are provided for me by Fat Birds Don’t Fly bike shop,
Hunstanton (www.fatbirds.co.uk).
The teams tyres and tubs are supplied by Schwalbe and the chains
by Taya chains.
